- Organized Workspace: Maintaining an organized workspace is a great start to ensure safety.
- Placement: Ensure your oven is located outdoors in a well-ventilated area to prevent smoke build up. Place the pizza oven on a level surface away from flammable materials such as trees, shrubs, or fences. Never place the oven under ANY combustible material.
- Clearance: The grill must be at least 48” from the sides and rear and 10’ from the mouth to any combustible material. The grill must be at least 8” from the sides and rear and 36” from the mouth to any non-combustible material.
- Unattended: Never leave the pizza oven unattended while in use since, as it can reach high temperatures.
- Littles: Keep children and pets away from the pizza oven when it is in use, as it can be very hot and cause burns.
- Attire: Wear appropriate safety gear when using the pizza oven, such as gloves.
- Clean: Regularly clean and maintain the oven to prevent grease, soot, and creosote build-up, which can create a fire hazard.
- No Water: Never use water to extinguish a fire. Simply place the oven door securely on the oven and allow the fire to burn out.
- Wood: Always use kiln dried natural hardwood. Do not overload the oven which could cause it to overheat.
